Openmind Networks, using its superior telecoms-optimised platform, has released a mobile communication API aiming to “bridge the telecoms and IP world”.

The API will allow developers to tap into a whole variety of telecoms services, using the company’s adaptive platform which already delivers one billion messages worldwide.

Telecom providers already use the services provided by Openmind, due to the scalability and robustness available.

Using these telco-approved APIs, you can expect functionality which would have previously been unavailable, such as setting up message storage in the cloud for your business users, whilst harnessing text messages between customers and your own sales force.

Through offering access to a huge range of capabilities and protocols from VoIP, RCS, WebRTC, location sharing and billing; developers have a great opportunity to enhance their applications with improved functionality.

Openmind CEO Alex Duncan commented: “At its core, Openmind’s platform enables adaptability to a variety of users. The addition of the API offers software developers the ability to tap into telecoms functionality in a way that was impossible before.”

As a platform Openmind has a fairly comprehensive suite of products, including Famfinder – a family locator app – Bugle – an enterprise communication app – and Dinamotxt – a Tablet and Web Messaging app.

Dinamotxt is shortlisted as a finalist for an e-Tech award at CTIA in Las Vegas.

Openmind Networks was formed in 2003, when the founders Alex Duncan and Brian Kelly departed from their previous roles at a leading SMS provider to create this rising company.

Will you be using this new mobile communication API to deliver telco-approved functionality to your applications?
