LiveCode is a highly effective development platform for teaching programming in Computer Studies, ICT and Computer Science courses around the world. Educators from primary/elementary schools through high school and at the university level are using LiveCode to engage their students in app development and teach them to love programming. We’re excited to present LiveCode to a range of educators — from administrators at the school district level to classroom instructors — at The Education Show in Birmingham, UK, March 15-17. We’re moving forward in 2012 with a strong commitment to education. LiveCode is easy to learn, easy to teach, and the right tool to help teachers build the relevant skill-set of the future — both in themselves, and their students. Our goal is to give educators the tools they need to inspire students to learn programming and build apps they love, and had fun building.
One of the most powerful examples of the effectiveness of LiveCode in teaching programming can be seen at Gracemount High School in Edinburgh, UK. Gracemount ICT Teacher Steven Whyte will give a 40-minute presentation at The Education Show, Saturday the 17th from 2:00-2:45 pm on his work with the platform. We’ll record Steven’s session and post clips to the RunRev YouTube page after the show.
To coincide with The Education Show, we’re launching a new Education Microsite to showcase the benefits of LiveCode in education. Keep an eye out for that next week. The site will include a variety of resources, case studies, videos, and pricing options – everything educators need to get started with LiveCode. We welcome your input and feedback as we develop materials and resources to support your instruction.
