We’re just back from a very busy, very enjoyable few days at AppsWorld London. We got to meet lots of really interesting people and everyone was amazed at just how simple, powerful and robust LiveCode could be.

We kicked off the two day event with a developer panel discussion entitled “Challenges of design, creation & distribution of multi-platform apps.” Ben Beaumont, LiveCode Product Manager, was joined on the panel by Andrew Ashe, LiveCode Customer and Managing Director of Eurotalk Limited. Also on the panel was Joe Stagner, Sr. Program Manager of Mozilla. The panel discussion was extremely well attended and we really impressed with how focused and engaged the audience were. There weren’t too many really tough questions, and it was great to be able to talk about LiveCode and our competitors in the context of the overall market.

In the afternoon we had another opportunity to present. This time Kevin Miller took up the mantle and led a workshop for Small Business owners on why they needed an app and waht options they have to get one, or better yet, make it themselves. Kevin was again joined by Andrew Ashe, LiveCode customer and Eurotalk Managing Director, who was able to share his personal experiences of app development; its challenges, opportunities and how best to overcome them.

Meanwhile, at booth 80 the rest of the RunRev team were hard at work talking to delegates and visitors to the confernce from all over the world. Easily the most popular aspect of two days for everyone who came to visit us was our quick ‘Make and app in 3 minutes demo”.

We gave this quick presentation every hour and always got a big crowd of people to watch. Kevin set himself a challenge: in under 3 minutes he was to make an ipad app that allowed him to take a photo of the audience with his iPad. Then, the app randomly selected from the photo who would win a commercial LiveCode bundle.
