Over the past 5 years we’ve seen a number of changes to www.runrev.com and today we launched the latest revision of our websites. This change is one with a difference because it is not just a ‘facelift’. We have worked hard to redesign the layout, flow and usabiity of the site and also added a host of new sections aimed at serving the community.
Perhaps the most exciting change to the site is within the developers section which now includes three new ‘mini sites’.
Documentation
Our first mini site sees the product documentation move to the web. Why is this good, I hear you say? Well, apart from providing another way to access the Revolution documentation it displays links to tutorials and sample stacks for many of the most used keywords. This is perfect for those of you wanting to do something new (like transfering a file by FTP) and want a quick start quide. You can also comment on any documentation entry and include sample code snippets. The usefulness of the documentation will only grow as we all post helpful comments and samples.
Lessons / Tutorials
This is perhaps the most exciting of our new mini sites. Lessons.runrev.com is the new home for our visual lessons and tutorials. Developers and members of the community will post answer to other users questions in the form of ‘visual tutorials’. Relevant lessons are cross linked with the documentation making it easy to find the lesson that is relevant to you. A great search feature also allows you to search for specific tutorials. If you are new to Revolution or simply want a quick guide to getting into a certain aspect of Rev this is the place to go. If there isn’t a lesson for the task you want to do, simply write into support and one of our team will create it.
revOnline
By popular demand we have now created a web interface to revOnline. We have also added the ability to comment on uploaded stacks.
