Bett ShowRunRev are delighted to announce that LiveCode has been shortlisted for a BETT Award, the most prestigious education technology award in the UK. The BETT awards are chaired by BESA, the British Educational Suppliers Association. They will be announced during the annual BETT exhibition and conference and judged by a panel of education professionals. The awards go to products or companies that excel at delivering classroom based technology solutions.

LiveCode has been shortlisted in the ‘ICT Tools for Learning and Teaching’ category. This category rewards innovation in and commitment to the development of learning and teaching tools for the primary, secondary and further education sectors. LiveCode was shortlisted because it answered ‘Yes’ to all these questions.

  1. Is it easy to use?
  2. Does it provide valuable user guidance and information?
  3. Does it stimulate interactivity and collaboration?
  4. Does it promote creativity?
  5. Is it accessible and inclusive?
  6. Does it promote learning across the curriculum?
  7. Is it distinctive and innovative?

LiveCode would never have been shortlisted for this award without the support and help of UK teachers and educators. One teacher in particular, Steven Whyte of Gracemount College Edinburgh, has given unwavering support to RunRev and has even developed his own LiveCode programming course for his secondary school students. Steven kindly shares this course with his fellow educators – you can download it here. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Steven Whyte and our other educators for all their support this year

Winners of the BETT awards will be announced on January 11th 2012. Watch this space…
