Google simplifies trawling through Android Open Source Project code

Google is making it easier for developers to sift through the open source code at the foundation of every Android device.

While third-party tools for analysing the Android Open Source Project code have been available for some time, an official method has been lacking.

Google is now rectifying this oversight by breaking down complex projects like Android and Chromium into smaller individual Git repos. For some perspective, Android alone has over 1,500 different repositories.

Mobile game company N3twork secures $40 million in series C funding

N3twork, a mobile game company has announced that it has secured $40 million (£30.9m) in series C funding. According to the company, the funding will be used to expand its first-party games portfolio, media network and live publishing platform.

The funding round was led by Griffin Gaming Partners, KPCB Holdings, Galaxy Digital (via its Galaxy Digital EOS VC Fund), and Korea Investment Partners.

AppsFlyer: ‘Hyper casual’ gaming is boosting in-app advertising

GitHub announces native Android and iOS apps alongside new features

GitHub has announced native mobile apps for Android and iOS alongside several new features during its annual Universe conference.

Apple removes 18 iOS apps for fraudulent advertising activity

Apple has removed 18 iOS apps after determining they were being used to earn money for cybercriminals by conducting ad fraud.

The apps were found to be secretly clicking adverts to earn the attacker cash. While such conduct is not intrusive and may not even be noticeable by the user, it can slow down the device, use more data, and/or drain the battery faster.

Huawei is offering up $1.5 billion to woo software developers 

Huawei is putting over a billion dollars on the line in a bid to lure software developers into supporting its platforms amid uncertainties.

Apple is giving iOS apps which handle real cash in an HTML5 wrapper a bit longer to transition to native
