How AI will change mobile app development

Mobile applications are continually improving, and artificial intelligence (AI) is powering this evolution as more intuitive apps enter the market. With new apps being introduced to the market, products must stand apart from competitors by meeting the rising standards of consumers.

Customers are now relying on mobile apps as immediate solutions for task completion and assistance with many other duties. AI’s adaptability and learning capacity allow businesses to satisfy the needs of customers while creating a personalized experience for every user.

As developers continue to rely on artificial intelligence, here are a few of the ways AI will change mobile app development.

Personalisation will lead the way during mobile app development

AI is a powerful personalization tool because it gains insight from each user’s information, searches, and buying habits. Everyone that uses apps built on artificial intelligence has a unique experience because the app offers personal recommendations based on individual preferences.

As more businesses witness the power of AI, more apps will come to market using artificial intelligence to increase engagement and enhance customer satisfaction. My Starbucks Barista, Amazon Go, and the TacoBot app are among the most famous examples of intelligent apps. These apps pay attention to the behavior of users, predicts what they enjoy, and follows their commands by placing orders.

Both the front-end and back-end app experience will become more personal with AI because artificial intelligence creates algorithms by teaching machines to process information like the human brain. Machines can naturally learn what’s preferred by consumers on the front-end, but app developers will use AI more intentionally for the automation of repetitive tasks, software testing, and deciding how to move into the next development phase.

App developers will have more opportunities to deploy code creatively

Artificial intelligence is changing app development in historic ways. As the need for AI continues to increase, app developers with a comprehensive understanding of automated learning will be in higher demand for their knowledge and creativity. App developers will then have the option to deploy innovative code more frequently thanks to the flexibility of AI, creating a shift in the way mobile users gather and access information.

AI is more accessible than ever, and the algorithms can be developed for a variety of specific tasks. Consider Quick Response (QR) codes. Similar to a traditional barcode, these black and white squares are scannable and transmit information into a user’s cell phone after the scan. Information including location, prices, and online links to content and videos are accessible through QR code. Developers make QR scans possible by deploying code in mobile apps that work as QR readers. With AI integration, customers can receive more than basic information from a QR scan. They’ll be able to receive additional insights, such as release dates for new products and upcoming tour dates in their city, based on personal preferences previously identified by artificial intelligence. Octane.ai is one of the apps realizing the potential of QR codes combined with AI. Their developers are also personalizing the customer support experience on Shopify by using bots that instantly answer customer questions via chat in Facebook Messenger.

Machine learning does more than increase brand awareness and promote sales. It works for consumers to make their lives easier while keeping them informed. By learning how users behave, AI can notice irregular behavior and diagnose problems accordingly.

Businesses must shift gears to stay relevant

The undeniable impact of AI will lead to intelligent apps becoming the new norm for businesses. Building applications that adapt to the needs of users mean that businesses must direct their focus to data. How will data be collected? How will the data be fed to machines and how often will data input be needed? Will data experts specializing in machine learning be hired permanently or contracted through another firm?

Standard algorithms don’t strengthen the relationship between brands and customers like AI, inspiring startup companies to develop smart apps that increase user retention. AI integration will be the solution for many businesses to expand into new markets and provide better customer service, setting the stage for a significant return on the investment into the development process.

Major companies such as eBay prove that AI increases customer loyalty. The eBay app has been downloaded more than 370 million times worldwide. Despite its popularity, the company creates an intimate shopping experience with AI by using structured data to generate personalized homepages. eBay also uses AI-powered visual search features to find items matching social media images or pictures from a user’s cell phone, helping buyers locate products without searching for long periods of time.

AI is integrating with our professional and personal lives

The reach of AI is extending beyond mobile applications into smart home technology, computers, and a diverse range of items meant for personal and professional use.

AI is showing us that the future of mobile app development is here.  Artificial intelligence is changing the ways developers build apps and how consumers interact with products. Deploying apps with standard code is no longer enough to appease modern customers who are becoming more familiar with innovative technologies daily. Keeping up with the constant advancements of AI is becoming necessary to stay relevant in the market.

Oh dear looks like the author is predicting problems rather than a solution

1. Will people really want AI to make decisions for them - well some might but then goes creativity and new experiences
2. The author really thinks QR codes are a good idea? Absolutely stupid one in the real world of security risks, you want to go to a URL without any hint of what it is - guess some people deserved to be pawned/hijacked and infected.
