Gamers demand consistent platform-independent experience
A leading online games developer has announced a new focus on mobile and cross-platform gaming, as users demand more platform-independent gaming experiences.
“Gamers desire continuous and platform-independent gaming fun with a high long term motivation and an over average user activity,” said co-founder Michael Zillmer.
The German developer has already launched Tribal Wars beta versions for iOs and Android, and is currently working on apps for Grepolis. All titles currently in development will be designed for cross-platform from the very beginning, it said, offering a complete feature set for both tablets and smartphones.
In-game purchase revenues on smartphones are expected to more than double in the next four years, hitting $4.6bn in 2016, according to industry analyst Forrester Research.
InnoGames, which has grown steadily over recent years, plans to recruit 80 new specialists, with a priority on international applicants. “We are focused on the development side, but we are also on looking for experts in mobile marketing, user interface, producing and product management experts and more,” added Zillmer.
