BlackBerry to host app developer masterclass @ #AppsWorld Africa
With Apps World Africa just two weeks away, in Cape Town on 1-2 June, BlackBerry have announced that they will be running an app development masterclass session at the event.
Hosted by RIM’s senior app development consultant in South Africa Michael Weitzel, this session will provide the technical knowhow that developers require to begin developing apps for the BlackBerry platform across both web and Java.
The session will also look at the raft of tools provided to the BlackBerry developer community and examine how to get started to develop apps. Michael will also talk about the future of developing apps on the BlackBerry platform, for the much anticipated BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet, and beyond!
RIM is currently on the hunt for talented developers in South Africa, looking for the country’s first BlackBerry PlayBook app master, and offering an all expenses paid trip to San Francisco in October to visit its developer conference Devcon.
Developers have until the end of May, right before Apps World, to come up with an innovative app for the new BlackBerry PlayBook using PlayBook-compatible tools such as Web, Adobe® Flash®, Adobe® AIR® and BlackBerry Webworks. Click here for more information.
The BlackBerry developer masterclass at Apps World Africa will set aspiring developers up with everything they need to start designing apps for the BlackBerry platform. It makes up part of the free-to-attend developer track at the event on 1-2 June in Cape Town. To register for this show, visit the event homepage today.
