#AppsWorld partners with UCT to connect young developers with international brands

The University of Cape Town has partnered with Apps World Africa, offering its budding IT and design students the opportunity to attend the Cape Town show on 1-2 June and meet some of the world’s leading digital brands.

Google, Microsoft, Blackberry, Nokia, Samsung and many more multinational organisations will have a presence at the show, looking to make connections with local talent, as the African digital economy continues to expand and on-the-ground knowledge becomes an increasingly valuable commodity.

UCT recently announced the launch of a new developer incubation lab in partnership with Samsung. The UCT Samsung Mobile Innovation Laboratory (SMILe), Samsung’s first such initiative in Africa, is a multimillion-rand project that aims to encourage further development of mobile technology and skills, focusing on the very specific problems faced by people in the region.

Apps World Africa kicks off in Cape Town on 1-2 June. For more information on how to attend, visit the event website today.
