Are you getting full smartphone satisfaction?

A study from OnDevice Research has revealed that Apple is starting to falter in terms of device satisfaction.

The study, which covers data from 93,825 US mobile users and 52,140 UK users, found that the top four phones in the US list were Android-powered, followed by the Apple iPhone 5.

Ahead of the iPhone 5 in terms of user happiness were in ascending order, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2; the HTC Rezound 4G; the Motorola Droid Razr M; and at the top, the distinctly low-budget Motorola Atrix HD.

Mobile application performance management platform Crittercism has released research showcasing the latest app performance trends.

Crittercism reveals that Android has a 1.76% crash rate, compared to iOS with a 1.98% crash rate. In terms of specific models, Crittercism found that iOS 5.0.1 was the most friendly Apple OS, with 4.1 Jelly Bean being the best performing Droid system.

Apple 'app fatigue' setting in, according to job research

A report from outsourcing marketplace Freelancer.com has revealed that Apple iOS jobs have dropped in Q4 2012, for the first time in the report’s history.

The results were calculated in a list of the top 50 jobs in the IT industry, and was extracted from 261,003 jobs posted on Freelancer.com during the third quarter of 2012.

And it transpired that there are fewer Apple jobs on the market now than a few months ago. Jobs related to iPhones went down from 5508 to 5298 jobs posted – a downturn of 3.8%...

Apple passes one million app submission mark

Following news that the Google Play store had broken the 700,000 app mark last month, DeveloperTech asked: “Who do you think will hit the one million mark for apps in its store, Google or Apple?”

Google Play breaks the 700,000 app mark

In a period dominated by Microsoft-based news, Google does not want to be outdone, with Bloomberg reporting that the search giant now has 700,000 apps downloadable for Android in the Play store.

This number correlates similarly to Apple’s App Store, which at the last count was at just over 700,000 apps.

Back in June reports abounded that the Google Play store had cracked 600,000 apps, compared to 650,000 apps for the App Store as Apple announced in the same month.
