HzO ‘Talking to Apple’ About Water Blocking Technology for Future iPhones

Apple to Launch 2880×1800 Res ‘Retina Display’ MacBook Pro in Q2 2012?

In a report sure to excite our readers, DigiTimes is saying that Apple may be readying an ultra high-resolution MacBook Pro for as early as Q2 2012:

“Apple is likely to launch its new MacBook Pro lineup with a display resolution of 2880 by 1800 in the second quarter of 2012, setting a new round of competition for panel specifications in the notebook industry, according to sources in the upstream supply chain.”

Kindle Fire software update coming in less than two weeks

In the wake of user complaints about web browsing speeds and other performance issues, Amazon has told the New York Times that it will be releasing a software update for the Kindle Fire “in less than two weeks.”

That timeframe would put this new software update about a month after the 6.2 update released at the end of November.

The improvements will include performance updates and (finally) the ability to edit the list of recently used items on the home-screen carousel.

Analysts See iPhone 4S Supply Constraints Throughout Holiday Quarter

Fortune summarizes a pair of analyst reports out today suggesting that Apple may be experiencing some supply constraints on the iPhone 4S during this holiday quarter.

Amazon 'Kindle Phone' could be released in late 2012

Amazon may develop its own smartphone after the recent success of its Kindle devices, which could be launched by 2012.

According to a report by research firm Citigroup, Amazon have asked Taipei-based company, Foxconn, to help make the smartphone. Foxconn has previously working with Apple to develop its iPhone device.

Stanford University has released its mobile app development course online for free, giving developers an opportunity to learn more about Apple's iOS outside the classroom.
